What is TESOL?

 

TESOL is a certificate program in English language teaching to adults. It provides trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to be effective English teachers and make real difference in their own context.

Who is the course for?

It is for English teachers who have already practiced teaching, for novice teachers who have just started their career in ELT, and for professionals who are planning to go into ELT as a future career.

What are the entry requirements?

Excellent command of English ( B2 up)

+18 years

How does the class work?

TESOL is divided into many parts:

  • The theoretical part which covers the following areas:
  • Writing a professional lesson plan
  • How to teach receptive skills
  • How to teach productive skills
  • Classroom management
  • Methods and approaches in ELT
  • The mechanism of ELT
  • Techniques in ELT
  • The practical part is for trainees to practice what they have learned through systematic guidance and feedback from the trainer.
  • Observation of professional teachers
  • Written assignments
  • Peer Observation  

How will I be assessed?

Your overall assessment will be based on:

  • Teaching practice (TP)
  • Written Assignments

Do I have an accredited certificate at the end of the course?

Yes, if you pass the course successfully you get an accredited and official certificate that can help you in your future career as many institutions and LTOs require TESOL.
